Airplane emergency procedures

Putting our oxygen mask on first

This week was very hard for me and my team. The details of the why are not as important. We are all ok, so please don’t worry.

What is important is that my captain’s instincts kicked into full gear and I went into “I have to make sure everyone is ok” mode.

Result? Halfway through the week, I was already out of energy and exhausted.

Luckily I have an amazing team. On Wednesday evening I received this text from one of my teammates.

Put your own oxygen mask on first. Of course I heard and gave this advice many times in the past but “in the heat of the battle”, I almost forgot.

If you are feeling stressed and frazzled, don’t be like me. Don’t forget to put your own oxygen mask on first.

Have a great weekend and see you on Monday!
